To get everyone caught up, we now officially live in Charleston, WV. We have been here about two weeks, and man it's ben a rough two weeks! We left home in Tx on Dec. 26th, with both my parents and Chads parents following along to help with the move. It was a full two day drive to get here but Payton (and everyone else) did very well! Lol.
Here are some pictures of our new home! It is a 3br 2.5 bath and 2 car garage!
We are so in love with it!! (Sorry for the brag post!)
This is our Living room. I took this picture when we first moved in.
This was before we really decorated.
Sorry for the mess but this is after we bought a few decorations
for the room! It's almost complete and I am loving it!
This is the kitchen. It is very spacious and has tons of cabinet space!
This is our "dinning room." I love the open floor plan of this floor.
This is our plain ole' bedroom.. It's one of the last on my list to
decorate. I will eventually do something with it. Atleast thats what I keep telling
myself. haha
This is Payton's bath. He absolutely loves it. I do have to agree, I
think its one of the cutest rooms in the house(:
This is Payton man's room. Or as he will say "Payton's big
boy room" I hope to find some more dinosaur things here and
there down the road to add. He loves his dinosaurs.
He is also having so much fun with all the room for his toys
now!
We thought he was going to be very hard to transition from the
crib to the bed, and also being in a whole room by himself..
He is doing so great though!
This is while everyone was still here helping us move
and settle in. It sure was nice having these last few days with everyone.
The first full weekend we were here, we had what they
were calling an "arctic freeze." Chad and I thought it was pretty and fun
until we had to drive into it! Lol.
It stayed anywhere from -1 to -5 for about three days.
Talk about a huge adjustment from TX!!
Payton Loves the snow!! He sees it just as rain. He loves to just go out
and kick in as if its a water puddle..
I swear Payton is looking more and more like chad now that he's
getting older. He has definitely lost all his baby features! :(
We have met a few new friends here so far! Chad and
I love getting dressed up to go to dinner with some of them! It is so nice to have
made great friends with kids for Payton to play with! He doesn't know what to do with
all these kids! He was so used to being the only child back at home!! haha
Chad is doing an AMAZING job potty training Payton!
He has been such a great SAH Daddy! I'm so blessed to have married such a
great guy!
So this is the just of our life right now.. I think we have settled in for the most part, and only have to use a gps maybe two days out of the week now. haha. Obviously WV is much different than TX but we are adjusting pretty well. Unfortunately, Chad was supposed to start a night class tomorrow but with this whole chemical spill (I'm sure everyone has heard!) they have post-poned class. Let me tell ya it is very hard to adjust to having no running water! I catch my self turning it on for various reasons a million times a day then hurrying to shut it off. For those that don't know, Thursday afternoon the American Water company caught a very foul oder in the lines of their water system. A leak from a local chemical plant had started running into the river that the water system gets their supply from. They immediately announced for no one to use their water for ANYTHING.. no showers no washing clothes/dishes nothing.. you can't even boil it.. We assumed it would last a day or so, but here we are four days later and they see no end in site. The scariest part is they have no idea how long it's been leaking and have no idea what it can do to our bodies if consumed! (So if we turn into zombies you know what happened!) Lol. It is crazy seeing CNN vans everyone. who knew our move would make national news so fast! lol Anyway, thats a huge welcoming mess we are dealing with right now but hey what can you do... Let's just hope it gets fixed soon and no one is harmed. I look forward to keeping everyone updated on our now interesting life!
